M&M was formed in 1971 by Robert Macnamara who identified a niche in the heavy haulage/ earth moving equipment market for and expert in the movement of Rusten Bucyrus RB22 jibbed and cable driven Drag line and bucket excavators then predominately being used on coal sites throughout the welsh coal fields.

Since 1971 the business has expanded to become one of the premier earth moving equipment specialists in Wales. Based at its current location since 1980 when the Garage services and first MOT testing station was installed. All business streams have gradually grown with Robert’s son, Mark, daughter, Julie and nephew, Steven being employed within the business/organisation.

1972 and M&M were just starting! Here is the very first Low Loader, a Foden 2259KC Chinese 6 twin steer, with a Dyson Low Loader trailer 1400/20 tyres on the rear. With one of the very first moves of a Crawler Crane, a Ruston Buceryrus RB22 half rigged-with underslung head jib. Crane belonged to a then newly formed company -British Crane Hire Corporation (BHC) (part of the Richards & Wallington group)
